and so winter begins: blogmas day #8

(4 days until Christmas..)

I sit here once again at my kitchen table, watching out the window a big open sky with a sunset fading from blue, to pink, to orange. What a lovely first day of winter! 😊 It feels so peaceful here after a full day of being out and about. It hasn’t been extremely eventful, but I thought it’d still be worth it to sit and write about the kind of day I had:)

This morning I made myself a breakfast of sunny side up eggs (cooked a little too long but they were yummy *nods*) with some bagel seasoning on top which makes it soooo good. You probably don’t really care for what I ate this morning but it was a small detail that made my day brighter ;D (i had a real nice lunch too in case u were wondering)

I spent some time reading in bed with my new favorite blankie EVER. It was a secret santa gift from a friend and oh my goodness I AM IN LOVE. (i now know what it’s like to sleep on a cloud.) It’s by far one of my favorite parts of each day.

Later in the afternoon, we went out on a search for a few more last minute (very last minute) gifts.. and I returned with no gifts for anyone but myself hehe.. It is dangerous for me to go shopping now, I feel whenever I do there is always just something I don’t want to leave without 😂 My goodness especially at the mall, there were so many cute things!! I didn’t get many photos, but I shall share a few!

I bought these blue light glasses and I love them so much!! So much so, I ripped off the tag as soon as i left the store just so I could wear them the rest of the trip hehe. (oh.. yeah those are my siblings being weirdos in the back 😂)

I also got a beautiful ear cuff! I don’t have a good picture of that, but it is rose gold and covered in pretty jewels. I still haven’t gone to get my ears re-pierced, so a cute ear cuff will suffice until then 😉

We spent alot of time walking through stores and there were such cool things! It hurt a little to leave them behind, but they’d hurt my wallet even more. 😅

Such as this absolutely adorable backpack!! (y’all have seen “Up” right??) It has a bunch of Russel’s little badges all over it and oh goodness I wish I could have it so bad! But unfortunately, I do not think a backpack would be worth $80.. yeah I was sad:( But definitely still going on my future wishlist.

That’s about it folks. This post was quite short and simple, but I so enjoy making those kinds of posts! Thank you guys so much for poppin in and listening once again to my endless and slightly unamusing words. (seriously thank you, i’m so happy you guys have enjoyed blogmas 😉 ) After coming home, we took time to chill, and now I hear my Nanna and Papaw are coming to visit! Hey y’all! And welcome to the third day of blogmas here on Sunshine & Rain! Ahh, where are all of my last minute gift shoppers at? I know there’s more than just me haha! With little over a week until Christmas day, I know there’s still some of us struggling to check off the last bit of our shopping list. Whether it be for a Secret Santa gift exchange, or maybe it’s someone you just have no clue really what to get for. I hope that I may be able to help with that! Today I have put together a simple list of gift basket inspiration! Gift baskets are perfect for last minute shopping; all you really need is a cute box, some confetti, and a bunch of small things to fill it with! 🌼 Summer 2021 bucket list: I have returned ;)

AHHH, hello loves!! This is Hailey (hope you still remember me hehe…) and I am SO HAPPY to be back in the blogoshpere after taking a break these past couple months. No, my break from blogging was not planned, but it was a decision that I am quite glad I made. I got some much needed time, still I apologize to all my blogging friends for just falling off the face of the earth haha!

At the beginning of this year, I was really on an inspiration and motivation burnout, stress started to take over and there had (and still has)been so much going on, that I really needed to step away and focus on different things. I have been experiencing so much change and it was so hard to keep up with everything, I was overwhelmed. I needed to take a step back, slow my mind down, and see what I really needed to set my gaze upon.

I am in a season of growth and discovery. It has been and has continued to be a painful and confusing journey that I am walking through, but it has been one of healing and restoration. I am learning what it means to let go, and let God. I have lost what feels like so much, yet through that there is so much more I have gained. My God has been faithful, He has placed in my heart a new perspective and through Him I have begun to experience real peace. He has been my guide and my comfort. He has given me so much, He has truly been so good. Every day I am continuing to seek Him out and what He has called me to. I have grown in my faith, in my trust, and in my own confidence. He is walking alongside me in this season, I can hear God speaking to me that this is my season of revival. He is restoring, healing, and doing just what he promised He would do, if I would just begin to turn my heart over to Him. And of course, I did just that.

Eventually I will post something explaining more in depth of what i’ve been up to since March, so much has happened and I’ve been altogether going through so much growth. New feelings, new friendships, opportunities, ideas, etc. Through this journey I have been on recently I have been leaning further into my Jesus and depending on Him, which has been such a beautiful thing. I am experiencing stronger gratitude, joy, and shifts in perspective. God has been working within me and renewing my heart. He has revealed to me many things about both Him and myself. He has been my guide, comfort, wisdom, and reminder throughout this walk I’m on with Him. I rejoice in the fact that I am becoming closer to Him than I have ever been before. I am learning to count my blessings and hold to Him when things start to shake. He has been a great Teacher & Father to me. I see myself as a flower, and Him as the gardener. I have been put through sunshine and rain (get where the blog name comes from?) but it has put me through so much growth and change for the better. He continues to watch over me, love me, to care for me while I bloom beautifully into the woman He has created me to be. I can say that I am truly a pretty different person than I was only a year ago.

So here I am again with a soul refreshed and a heart being restored. Hello again, I hope you are doing well, I have missed you so 😉 (that was by far one of the most sporadic, spontaneous intros I have ever wrote… and I love it, okay moving on!)

Well my goodness I forgot how much I love doing this! Today I am very excited to share with you my big ole’ summer 2021 bucket list! *yayyyyy* After being gone for this long, I thought this would make a nice post to return with, and this just makes me so excited and happy that it’s SUMMER!! Ahhh ice cream, flip flops, sunshine, flowers blossoming, evening walks, all of it. I just love visualizing everything, and I look forward to checking off all that I can on this year’s bucket list! (and this isn’t all there is… I add more and more ideas to my list as the season goes on ;D) Feel free to draw inspiration from any of these, and let me know what you look most forward to this summer or what you have on your own bucket list!

Igniting Inspiration Week 18 (2/21/21)

Hello there and good Sunday morning to you lovely people! I am very excited to be bringing to you Igniting Inspiration Week 18! I always love putting together these posts as a good close to the week past, and a celebration for the new week ahead. This past week has been a beautiful one for me, and there were some pretty special moments. I’d like to try something new on this series and share with you guys a little bit of how my week has been 😉

This week seemed to strangely go by pretty quickly. Before I knew it I realized that the next day was Friday and the weekend was almost here again! Quite a bit happened, as always there were highs and there were lows, but I am grateful beyond anything for another beautiful week God gave me the opportunity to experience and live out.

I had a great Valentines Day! Haha it was really great, even though nothing really big and special happened, and this year I had 4 different Valentines you could say! 1. Was my Daddy (he’s the main one every year, he got me a sweet card and wrote in it 😉 ) 2. I mean Jesus, of course 3. My Doggo, Tank, because I asked him… i mean i think he said yes… and 4. Was my bestie, Livy! We agreed to be Gal-entines because we’re lonely 🤣 So yeah, overall Valentines Day was great.

Monday, I watched 10 Cloverfield Lane with my sister and parents. That’s actually all I remember from Monday, but it was a great movie and I am very excited about the fact that there’s supposed to be another Cloverfield movie being made.

(I don’t remember anything from Tuesday, I need to get better at remembering to write these things down)

On Wednesday night I joined a youth group get-together, which I am so happy I decided to attend. It was only my second time visiting this youth group, and the whole night was really great. (we are exploring other churches right now, which I haven’t said anything about on here before, but we have been looking for a new place to call home 🙂 ) I met a couple of new people who I hope are becoming good friends of mine now, we played some great games, had a wonderful short sermon, and we basically just cracked up and goofed around the whole time. It was nice meeting some new people, I haven’t gotten the chance to meet some new friends in such a long time. I actually can’t wait for the next youth get-together, I really enjoyed it!

Thursday, I decided to pull up my big girl pants and save and set free what looked like a baby stink bug. (i am normally terrified of bugs and i’m trying so hard to get over it) I managed to catch it into a cup, cover it, and release it outside. I think that should count as a brave moment this week 😂

Friday, ahhh I think this day was the highlight of my week, even though it was a mix of highs and lows. The day started off smoothly, but later started going downhill from there. I got pretty upset and worked up over many things and let my emotions take over which effected other people too. I eventually lost any motivation to finish what needed done that day and lost all hope of it still turning out as a good day. It got really bad. But, I guess my sweet Mama understood that I was just upset and didn’t mean to make anyone else’s day harder. I really needed a break and just something to enjoy, and that’s what she gave me. She took me out to go Spring clothing shopping at Plato’s Closet, which she had talked about doing sometime before. We were there for awhile, but she didn’t seem to mind. We found some really great things and I am very happy with my new additions to my Spring 2021 wardrobe! (be on the lookout this week for a clothing haul post!) It was alot of fun taking a shopping trip like that, I haven’t gone clothes shopping in awhile. Afterwards Mama took me out to eat at Rusty Taco, where I got some delcious BBQ brisket nachos. (my fave) I had an amazing time with my Mama and I made sure to thank her for taking me out, because I had a terrible attitude that day and really didn’t deserve it. While we were driving to Plato’s Closet earlier that evening, there was the most beautiful sunset I have surely ever seen. The sun was glowing golden orange setting low on the horizon, the clouds covering the top to where just to golden bottom was shining through, and the sky splashed with pinks, and blues, and oranges, and yellows. It really reminded me that no matter how difficult or even hopelessly terrible a day or something may seem, the sun with always shine again. There is still happiness and joy and hope to be found. Just that small act of kindess from my Mama, made the entire day wonderful. Ain’t nobody got a greater, more lovely Mama than me. Love you Mama 😘

And Saturday, in the morning had a beautiful try-on fashion show for my sister with all the new clothes I got! I am quite excited to start wearing all my adorable clothes, if only this freezing snowy weather would go away now 😦

Hello and good evening my lovely people, and Merry Christmas!!

Today I just wanted to pop in to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, instead of doing a big post today. But be expecting a post on Everything I got for Christmas tomorrow! xD

It has been such an amazing day for me, and I hope it’s been the same and more for you. Definitely let me know what you did to celebrate the holidays because I would love to hear about it! It actually snowed today and that made it so much more beautiful, and it was so nice to have a white Christmas this year.

Also, I can’t believe that this is our last day of Blogmas here on Sunshine & Rain, and I will definitely miss it so much. Thank you guys so much for all of your love and support through all 25 days of Blogmas, you guys are truly amazing.

Blogmas Day #24: Christmas Eve Adventures

(1 DAY UNTIL CHRISTMAS. JUST ONE.)

Hello my lovely little jelly beans! I hope your day has been absolutely wonderful, and welcome to Blogmas Day #24! Ahhh oh my goodness I cannot believe that tomorrow is our last day of Blogmas here on Sunshine & Rain *sigh* But I am SO EXCITED that tomorrow is CHRISTMAS!! Guys like you don’t even know how excited I am. I could literally pee myself. I am definitely going to miss Blogmas, but it will also be a relief to not have to commit to posting every single day haha!

Well, today is going to be a rather short post. I am here just to wish you a very Merry Christmas, and to share with you what we did with some family this evening. 😊

Tonight we had my Aunt & Uncle (on my Moms side) over for some yummy dinner and brownies, and we all exchanged gifts! I am so stuffed with food, and opening gifts was so much fun. (I can’t wait to wake up and open more tomorrow xD)

I always enjoy spending time with my family, and tonight has been really great. 😊

Blogmas Day #16: Adorable Mini Mug Haul & A Hilarious Christmas Shopping Storytime

Hiya hiya my little beans!! I hope you have had a lovely day, and welcome to Day #16 of Blogmas here on Sunshine & Rain!

(OOH, ALSO. 9 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS. I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED.)

Ahhh, today has been a very great day for me. We went out Christmas shopping for several hours today which was amazing and hilarious xD We went to multiple stores like Hobby Lobby, Dollar Tree, Marshalls, & Kohls, and oh my gosh it was so much fun to go out and shop. After all of that we went to Chipotle and got some delicious burrito bowls to eat for dinner, which made the day 10 times more amazing.

Anyways, today I am going to be sharing some photos of some ADORABLE MUGS that I got for myself at Marshalls (after all that gift shopping I figured I should treat mahself xD), as well as a short but hilarious story of how my sister and I managed to hide a giant gift from my Mother who was in the store with us 😂. This was absolutely hilarious, and I think it’d be amazing to write about and look back on later.

Alrighty let’s start with storytime, so gather round’ my bootiful little beans.

Okay so Hobby Lobby was our first stop. I still needed to find my Mama, and Daddy a gift for Christmas so that’s what I started looking for.

After awhile of looking, I remembered something my Mama mentioning something that she really loved a long time ago.

And guess what it was.

Isn’t it adorable?! xD I seriously can’t wait to see her face when she opens it Christmas morning.

She is in love with our 8 wittle baby chickens out back, and just chickens in general.

Okay, so, when I found it I was immediately like BINGO, and I was especially happy because it was $40 on a 40% sale, so it ended up being a great deal.

After deciding to get it I was searching and found this hilarious sign from The Office (a show which both of my parents love) and knew I had to get it for my Daddy.

He’s been talking recently about needing decorations for his office so I knew it would be great!

Now, the only hard part was, how was I going to get Mama’s sign to the cash register, pay for it, and hide this giant THING so that she couldn’t see it?

(I didn’t have to worry much about Daddy’s gift thankfully since he wasn’t there)

Well, me and my sister had to get creative.

We ended up asking the cashier to double bag the sign so it wasn’t as see-through, and we had to squeeze it inside the cart, and take off both of our coats to cover it up.

It looked real suspicious.

It looked like we were dumbies trying so hard at a very much failing robbery with our coats very obviously covering a huge sign walking through the store 🤣

We got so many weird looks from people and we trying so hard not to look suspicious, but it made it even worse when we had worried looks on our faces while watching behind and around us the whole time making sure our Mom wasn’t around xD

Well thankfully, in the end we did survive and nobody actually thought we were stealing, and we ended up escaping safely without my Mom seeing what was inside.

Both signs are currently hiding away in my room, soon to be shoved away into my closet until Christmas morning.

Well that probably wasn’t the most entertaining story ever, but I thought it was beautiful.

OKAY. SO. After our trip to Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree to get some special treats for my close friends, we wen’t into Marshalls

and oh my.

Dudes I literally get lost in that place, they have SO MUCH CUTE STUFF FOR SO CHEAP!!

I forgot how much I loved that place and oh my gosh, I would seriously buy out the whole store if I could.

I ended up finding some SUPER CUTE mugs on display right as we walked in, and that my friends was where the trouble began.

I told myself I would limit myself to 2 cute mugs, but we all know how that turns out….

After I had picked out 2 I found another entire aisle FULL of mugs. And at that point I was screwed.

I mean how could you only pick out 2 mugs out of sooooo many cute mugs 😍

I ended up grabbing 5 mugs….but put back 1 in the end because I thought I’d save myself an extra $4 😂

So there I was after already spending quite a bit on gifts for friends and family, using almost all of my leftover cash to buy myself some adorable mugs xD

And how can you buy some adorably adorable mugs without taking awhile to display them on your blog?

That is exactly what I am here to do 😋

I was immediately in love after finding this one, ahhhh it’s just so pretty! I have lately been loving anything stars, and constellations, and galaxies, so I couldn’t resist getting this one. The colors are just so beautiful!

I absolutely love this one. This is one of my favorite bible verses, and the mug is so pretty!!

Mug #3

This one definitely has to be my top favorite out of all of them!! I am in love with yellows, and honeybees and I could never not buy this one. Not to mention the mug is actually SO BIG!

AHHH this one is gorgeous! It looks so unique, yet so simple, and I just love it.

my supa cute & comfy otd today, which wasn’t actually even a set! I just found a pair of my favorite sweats and put it with a random shirt (and of course fuzzy socks) and bada-bing, bada-boom! Feeling so ready for winter xD

Hiya hiya wonderful people! I hope your day has been great and welcome to Blogmas Day #14! (AHHHHH. 10 FULL DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS GUYS CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!)

Today has been a pretty nice day for me! As I will be showing in today’s post, I wore a super comfy outfit today (which I displayed above, not an essential part of the post but you guys really seem to love my OTD posts ; D) and took a beautiful trip to the library ; D I love the library so much and I get SO EXCITED discovering and picking out some new books to read! I actually didn’t get as much as I usually do on our usual library trips, but I thought it would be alot of fun to share what I am going to be reading here soon xD

(sorry there are no descriptions of what the books are about…..i kinda got lazy and didn’t feel like writing them all hehe…)

anyways off we go!

These are all of the books I got, like I said I actually usually get alot more, but I am SO EXCITED to read these 😀

Echo Mountain by Lauren Wolk: I thought this one sounded so sweet and like such an interesting read! (Oh, do you guys think I should do any book reviews in the future??)

The Siren by Kiera Cass: OH MY GOSH I cannot wait to read this!! I have read the entire Selection series by the same author and it is by far one of my favorite book series of all time! Kiera is such an amazing author, and I cannot wait to read another book of hers.

One time by Sharon Creech: Ahhh, as soon as I picked this one up I knew I had to read it. It sounds like such a cute book, and I really hope that this one lives up to and even beyond my expectations!

Bloom & Hatch by Kenneth Oppel: These 2 are a pair (in a 3 book series) and as soon as I found these I was immediately intrigued! These sound like such an interesting series, and I am hoping to eventually get the 3rd book in the series once I am finished with these.

Super Puzzletastic Mysteries by Chris Grabenstein: (the final book I got) This is supposedly a book filled 20 different mystery stories by a bunch of different authors mashed into one! I have always loved little mysteries and I am very excited to read this book.

As I have said before (many, many times) I am so very excited to read all of these! I am going to pick one to start reading tonight xD Either that or i’ll do what I usually do and start reading 3 of them all at once…..

Hiya hiya and good evening my beautiful people! I hope you are having a wonderful December 7th, and welcome to Day #7 of Blogmas 2020 here on Sunshine & Rain! (ONLY 18 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS. xD) Guys, I am so very happy to be back for the 7th day in a row, and so proud to still be going strong haha!

Today I am talking about my favorite things about Christmas time! (as you probably already seen) Ahhh, Christmas time altogether is just my favorite, and writing about these things makes me even more excited. xD You will definitely have to let me know what your favorite things about this time of year are!

The true meaning of Christmas

Of course the true meaning of Christmas is the most beautiful of all. Jesus came down and our salvation was a gift, he brought the gift of good news that we would be able to live eternal life because he would one day die for our own sins. Christmas is all about gifts, but we shouldn’t forget the most important gift of all. ❤

Watching the snow fall

I love watching the snow fall out the window either early in the morning, or dark at night. Its such a beautiful thing to watch the snow flurries fall and the street lights shining through, while the Christmas lights twinkle on the house roofs.

Making a Christmas list

I feel like this is always one of everyones favorite parts of Christmastime xD I feel like most of these are self explanatory

Ripping open presents on Christmas morning

Definitely such a great time opening presents early on Christmas morning! Just the whole feel of the morning makes me happy 🙂

Cuddling up warm and cozy

I guarantee that during the winter you will find me curled up in my 7 layer burrito blanket 99.9% of the time. Seriously love being warm and cozy.

Warm drinks

You can’t have Christmas without hot chocolate! You should definitely check out the DIY (paleo friendly) Frothy Hot Chocolate recipe that I posted just recently! xD

Putting up the tree & Decorating

Always a favorite thing of mine. Decorating the tree, and setting up some decor around the house with my family is just great 😉 Really brings on more of the Christmastime vibe!

Baking sugar cookies

Awhile ago we invited my Aunt & Uncle over to bake sugar cookies around Christmas! They were so much fun to frost and decorate, and definitely amazing to eat ; D

Christmas dinner with family

Spending time and eating a big yummy dinner with my family is always a blast. Stuffing yourself with food and then laughing until you feel like you might burst xD

Pretty Lights & Christmas decor

I love driving around with my family to see all the pretty lights and Christmas decor outside people’s houses. It’s like a big light show : D

Jamming to Christmas music

Again, pretty self explanatory. Who doesn’t love FREAKIN CHRISTMAS MUSIC xD

Making cards & putting together gifts

I always enjoy making Christmas cards, and putting together mini packages of gifts for my friends. Love seeing their faces light up when they open them 😊

The sweet smells of the Holidays

I absolutely LOVE HOLIDAY SMELLS. Like the scent of vanilla, peppermint, and cinnamon filling the air, such a beautiful feeling it gives.

Watching Christmas movies

A Christmas Story, The Grinch, Elf, Home Alone, ahhhhhh, just yes.

Trying desperately but failing at trying to get even a wink of sleep on the night before Christmas because of the overwhelming excitement for the morning *phew*
