Haha this was a pretty short list of favorites but i’ll continue to figure out more to add on to my Life Updates in the future! These were just a few of the things I’ve really been loving this month!
What I’ve been up to: June 2020
So close to the very beginning of June, me and my best gurlfriend went out on a girls day! It was so freaking fun and I actually made an entire post on it which you can check out right here! 😜
These were a couple of the gifts that I made for Allie’s birthday!! I made us both a matching set of bracelets and this ocean drawing which she seemed to love so much! I also made her a birthday slide show video with a bunch of photos of us (which was more of a personal thing so I can’t show it on here) and her birthday party was so much fun and I am so glad she liked the gifts!
This is super random but I just had to show you guys this! I picked up this notebook sitting on a shelf at a store, and I opened it up to the first page and found this…
Isn’t this just amazing?? 💕 Ugh, my heart though! I love finding things like this, have you ever found something like that before?
We’ve been going to parks with friends more this month, so that’s definitely been really fun! We just recently went to a park and hung out with these little crazy monkeys Zoey, and Judah! Gosh, aren’t they just the cutest?! I love those little muffins so much 💕😂
Well this wasn’t too bad for a very first Life Update post haha! It was a little shorter than I intended for it to be, but it’s alright! We good, we Gucci 😂 Thanks for checking out my latest post, and let me know how you enjoyed it! This was really fun to make and I can’t wait to make more (and hopefully longer) Life Updates in the future! How was your June? How’s your July been so far? Love ya Chicken Nuggets! Until we meet again,
Hiya-hiya! Happy Summer guys!! Like what?! Summer is already here? Dudes, I seriously cannot wait for this Summer, and what it has in store! I have so many things planned, that I would really love to do to make sure that this Summer is one of the greatest! (Check out my Summer 2020 Bucket List here!)
Now, one of the first awesome things I did this month to kick off the Summer was a Girls day with mah best gurl-friend, Allie! (Who also happens to be an awesome fellow blogger, definitely check out her site here!) Anyways, we did this as an early Birthday present-little-celebration-thingy for her at the beginning of this month, and it was literally so much fun I just had to share what we did with you guys! I was so very happy to be able to do this with going so long without hanging out with friends so Allie, doing this with you was absolutely amazing, and that day will be forever cherished. ; ) #FirstPostOfTheSummer, let’s goooooooo! xD
Our beautiful day started of with taking a little shopping trip to Plato’s closet, which I didn’t get any pictures of, (And thank you again very much to Allie’s Mom for taking us on this lovely trip haha!) but we got a few super cute things! And YOU GUYS. I found Filas! They were perfectly my size, and only 12 bucks so yeah that was an awesome start haha! I wear those things all the time, I had been wanting some because they match my sense of style so well so bam! Anyways. Plato’s closet is my absolute fave store at the moment, they have some really cute stuff! We then headed over to Ulta where Allie picked up a few makeup things, and we picked up a charcoal face mask! (Which was later used that evening, and is shown later on in this post)
Mah Filas that I literally love so very much!
We were both fan-girling over our aesthetic shoes once we got back, which we took looooooooooots of pictures of. 😂 (Hey, we love our aesthetic shoe pictures!)
After our mini shopping trip we stopped at Starbucks for some quite tasty drinks, I must say! ; D I got a grande pink drink, and she ordered a grande Strawberry acai lemonade! Talk about yummy!
After all of that, we returned to my house where the adventure continued!
We sat down in my room and talked for quite a bit, and then took a short break to eat dinner! After we ate, we immediately grabbed out our cameras and had a ton of fun with those things! 😂 Here is a big ole collage of pictures that were taken!
What’d I tell ya? We love our shoe pictures! 😂 I love this picture of us both! (Left: Allie! Right: Me!)This ones a charm! (Thank you and credits to little sis Eliyah for kindly taking this picture 😜)We also brought out the lovely Instax cams!Thank you to Allie for snapping this pic as well ; )Guess what? More shoe pics!
After taking all of those beautiful pictures, we had a blast jumping on the trampoline and playing with chalk out back while my siblings tagged along!
Did anyone else spot the cheeseburger in the top left corner of this picture that my brother created 😂
Again, didn’t get pictures but after that Me, Allie, and my siblings went out front and watched some try not to laugh videos with water in our mouths and OMG GUYS WE WERE DYING this was literally a blast and it was so hilarious! 😂 I choked so many times from laughing so hard!
It was getting late at that point, and Allie had to go home at about 10 that night so we decided to go inside and start on face masks! We jammed out to some music while putting them on which like everything else that day, was a total blast!
I was actually expecting these face masks to hurt alot worse coming off (because of seeing people screaming in pain trying them) but it actually didn’t hurt at all. Depending on the type you get, the more it hurts but all it did was tug as it came off! Anyways, before we took it off me and Allie went outback to jump on the trampoline and look at the stars a bit while we waited for the masks to dry which was really awesome! We were cracking up laughing and I wouldn’t be surprised if we woke up the neighbors! xD 😂
They so perttyyyyy 😂😂 Ugly faces is just our signature thing
My skin was so smooth after taking the mask off, I definitely loved it!
We had a few other things planned for that night but unfortunately time seemed to fly so fast and we eventually ran out! Me and Allie definitely want to do this again some time and do a bunch more things we didn’t get to do in the span of just one day!
We drove Allie home that night, and I went to bed very happy!
Again, that day was so much fun and I will forever remember and cherish it! I can’t wait to do this with her again very soon! I am so very glad that God gave me the privilege of meeting and getting to be close friends which such an amazing girl! I love ya lots sis 😜
Thanks for checking out my latest post, let me know if you enjoyed getting a peak at our little girls day! I sure had fun putting this post together, and can’t wait to create another post soon! Have you hung out with any friends lately? What Starbucks drink is your fave, or what is your go-to Starbucks order? Until our next visit my Chicken Nuggets!
Hey ya’ll! I hope you’re doing well. I am literally soooo happy about this post haha! You already seen in the title, so yes! We are getting chickens! xD *yaaaaayy!* We have actually wanted to get some sort of farm animals of our own for awhile now (not to mention my Mom actually dreams of living on a farm) and we have decided to get some chicks! We will have our own fresh eggs, and chickens are also super cute so they also count as cuddly floof-ball pets.
I am trying to convince my Mom to let me name one of them and call it as my own, and i’ve been working on coming up with a list of some really cute names I like haha! So, I will list all of the names i’ve gotten together below then you can use the poll below it to vote on what you think I should name my chicken! You can pick up to 3 of your favorite name ideas listed! Here are my favorite names that I have narrowed down to!
Sunshine
I feel like this would be one of my favorite names out of them all, it’s just a really cute name! I was also sort of thinking “Sunshine” could be the name of the chicken mascot for “Sunshine & Rain” haha, ya’know? Just to represent Lol. I just really love sunshine so much, so I think it could be a great name!
2. Nugget
Alright, well please don’t get mad at me for this but I think Nugget would be a funny and cute name for a chicken, Haha! *laughs uneasily* I don’t really have a full explanation for it, but I think it’d also make a cute, funny name! Just let me know what you think!
3. Arizona
Another name I love, Arizona. There’s just something so pretty about it so I think this would also been one of my favorites!
4. Lemon
This is for some reason such an adorable name to me! Lemon the Chicken haha! Doesn’t it sound so cute?
5. Mylo
This name sounds super unique, and really cute! Mylo would also seem to suit a chicken very well. Definitely one of my faves!
6. Mitzi
I just love this name so much, again it just seems like it’d suit a Chicken so well! I think that it is pure adorable.
7. Potato (Tater)
I think that Potato, aka Tater would make an absolutely adorable name haha! It’s just so cute and I think it’s hilarious! 😂
I absolutely love all of these name ideas, and it’s so hard to choose one! So help me out by taking the poll down below and voting on your top 3 favorite names!
Welp, today was a shorter post than usual but I cannot wait to see the results for your votes! I plan on doing little update posts for the chickens later on so I am also excited for those. Hiya-Hiya folks! *scoops up another bite of olives* I am super excited today for this post because it is the first pen-pal related post here on Sunshine & Rain so yaayy! *smiles big* I am going to be sharing this “Ultimate Beginners Guide to Pen-Paling” with you guys because I love pen-paling so much! And also because I know when I first started pen-paling I was hearing so many different things about it like you HAD to have this specific supplies to do it, or you HAVE to follow these rules only, and yada yada yada. The list wen’t on forever and it all got so confusing! So I am here with this easy and simple guide to pen-paling! There is a lot to learn about the beautiful art of pen-paling\letter writing, so sit back, grab a snack, and take note! I hope this simple guide helps you to understand pen-paling more, inspires you, and shows you that you don’t have to have all this expensive stuff to do it. So Lets’ah-go! *tries Mario impersonation* Btw, sorry for the weird blotchy spots on the envelopes in some of the photos)
What is a pen-pal\what is pen-paling?
In my words, a pen-pal is someone who you regularly write to and communicate with through letter writing! You write them a letter, then they write you back. (Probably not the complete definition but that’s basically the sum of it) A pen-pal can either be a family member who lives further away, a close friend, or you can meet, and get to know someone new through pen-paling with someone through different social media platforms! Of course before you start writing to somebody you don’t already know or start giving out personal info such as names, ages, phone numbers, and especially addresses, please definitely consult and talk to your parents about it because giving out things like that is really unsafe! Never talk to somebody you don’t know without your parents knowing, or without their permission. Having your parents involved in finding a great pen-pal for you will make it a lot safer and easier! You can even find a pen-pal through blogging, and that is actually how I found one of my fellow pen-pals Elizabeth! (Hey, Lizzy! 😜)
Anyway, having a pen-pal is a super fun way to get to know somebody, and to communicate! You can be so creative with it, and it is just so much fun and exciting to open up your mailbox and find a fun letter with your name on it! It is like receiving a little gift, and it’s different and so special every time! Your pen-pal doesn’t have to live far away for you to be able to write to them either. I have a close friend that I am pen-pals with that actually lives about 20 mins away (which is my best gurlfriend, Allie who probably reading this so Hi Allieeeee my chiccy nuggieee! 😁😂) and we still consistently write! It is just so much fun for us to be creative and goofy through letters with eachother, and it is so precious to be able to keep a hand written letter and to look back on it later on.
The one thing to keep in mind though, is that the whole point of letter writing is to communicate, get to know, and become closer with someone! It is so much more special to hold on to a piece of conversation from a friend than just text messaging these days. Which sadly, the whole point of pen-paling and even letter writing itself has been forgotten by many. I love pen-paling, and talking with friends through letters so much more! ; ) Now onto the essential supplies:
Here are the 3 letter writing essentials:
1.Any type of paper
Of course you are going to need some sort of paper to write your letter! It doesn’t have to be any specific type at all. I have used blank white printer paper, lined paper, grid paper\dot paper, paper from a cute notebook, etc. You can even go online and find some really cute letter printouts, but I prefer to use my own paper and decorate it myself to add my own touches!
2. Pens, pencils, or markers
Pens, pencils, and markers are definitely a necessity for letter writing as well! You don’t need to have all this fancy and expensive art supplies to create an amazing letter! Of course it is totally great to have some nice good quality markers or pens to work with, I enjoy using a normal number two pencil, colored pencils, gel pens, and crayola markers. As weird as it sounds, you really can make a great letter with just those. 😉
3. Envelopes and stamps
And the last thing you will need is an envelope to put your letter in, and a stamp to be able to send it! Again you don’t need to buy a big fancy decorated envelope to make it look nice. You can totally just use a normal envelope from your own home and deco it yourself! I personally make my own envelopes just from scrap paper, or paper from a sketchbook which gives me a bigger envelope to put my letter in and more creative space to work with so bam! It works great! (Just be aware, if you are sending a bigger letter over a certain size you will probably need more than one stamp to send it. Or if you aren’t sure how much you will need to send it, you can totally take it to the post office and they’ll tell you immediately how much you need and pay right then and there.)

I really enjoy making my Pen-pals smile by sending them a few extras like these in the letter! Of course, remember that the letter isn’t all about the extras, it’s about the letter itself. It’s about getting to know a new friend or talking with an old one, but it also makes you very happy to open up the envelope and see all the beautifully made gifts and trinkets sent too. I love sharing these things with my friends, and I hope to eventually gain a few more wonderful Pen-pals to write to soon! So special thanks to my beautiful pen-pals out there, I love you guys so much and you make my days very happy.
Tips for writing the Pen-Pal letter:
When writing to a Pen-pal, be sure to ask them questions and not just talk about yourself or things happening with just you, Ya’know? Ask them how they’re doing of course, but for example let’s say your even talking about something as simple as you jumping on a trampoline. Then ask them if they like trampolines or if they’ve been on one! Talking about making cupcakes, ask them if they have a favorite kind of cupcakes? Have they ever baked before? Just be sure to ask questions because that will keep the conversation going and keep it interesting! And another thing is, try to write as much as possible! Of course I’m not saying to write an entire books worth in your letter but try to do atleast a few paragraphs. It’s not all that enjoyable to read a letter that has about 2 sentences, rather than reading one that’s a couple pages because I really love hearing as much as possible from my pen-pals! My letters normally vary between 2-5 pages which may seem like alot but if you’re putting your heart into writing and talking to your pen-pal, the words will just start flowing out and it shouldn’t be a struggle to find something to write about at all! Just think of it as a normal conversation face to face, write what you’d actually say and feel free to be goofy, and have fun with it!
Also when writing, you can even just write about what your day has been like the day that your writing it. You can tell them what the weathers like, something you did, and that stuff! I personally really love writing about my day and then hearing back about my pen-pals day in their letter. Just simply telling them what’s going on and it’s a really enjoyable letter!
Here are some extra Pen-pal letter photos!

Alrighty, well I hope that this helped anyone out there just beginning with pen-paling and inspired some other Pen-palers out there as well! Let me know if you’d like to see more posts like this in the future because I would definitely love to make some more!
How many Pen-pals do you have? Let me know in the comments! I love hearing from you guys! If you don’t already have a Pen-pal I think during quarantine would be a great time to start Pen-paling if you’ve gotten bored enough haha! Again, you can even just do it with a close friend that lives a few minutes away and write to them. Much love my chicken nuggets, until next time! 😉
